St Brigid’s College Loughrea first Senior B Girls National Final since 2009

After a thrilling semi-final win over Presentation Secondary School Kilkenny (25-19), St Brigid’s College Loughrea made their first Senior B Girls National Final appearance since 2009. After a tight first opening set, St Leo’s College Carlow worked hard for their win over the Loughrea girls, in a final scoreline of 25-13, 25-23.

With coach Mary Barrett with them every step of the way, the St Brigid’s girls road to the final came by beating Convent of Mercy Roscommon 25- 16, Grange CC Dublin 25-21 and Roscommon CC 25-14 in their pool. They then won the quarter-final 25-16 against AM Ballinasloe, before beating the Pres Kilkenny 25-19.
