Loughrea welcomed funding announcement as part of Active Travel Programme 2022

€490,000 in funding has been allocated for the development/repair of footpaths in Loughrea town as part of the Active Travel Investment Programme 2022.

Posting on his Facebook page, Ciaran Cannon has welcomed the funding:

‘Really pleased to see €490,000 allocated for the development/repair of footpaths in Loughrea town, under our government’s active travel funding programme. Cllr. Michael Mogie Maher and I will continue to advocate for even more such investment in the years to come. Well done to Galway Co. Council for their excellent work in preparing the funding application. A town that is safe for pedestrians is a heathy and happy town, and Loughrea is fast becoming a great town to walk in.’
