Sponsored by Brooks Group, the 2024 County Senior Hurling Final was held on Sunday, 10th November 10th, in Kenny Park, where Loughrea and Cappataggle faced off for the County title.
The historic win, witnessed by a passionate crowd adorned in Loughrea’s blue and gold, marked the club’s third County Championship win since its founding. Their previous wins include their inaugural title in 1941 and a fierce victory in 2006 against Portumna. This year’s triumph also ends a determined journey for Loughrea, who last competed in the final in 2022 but fell just short in a nail-biting replay against St Thomas.
Cappataggle, making their Senior Final debut, brought intensity and ambition to the field, eager to claim their first championship since their establishment in 1885. Known for their powerful semi-final performance, where they defeated reigning All-Ireland Club Champions St Thomas, Cappataggle offered formidable opposition in this decisive match. The game was an intense battle of skill, strength, and strategy, with both teams displaying exemplary sportsmanship and determination to claim the title.
Caragh Precision, proud main sponsors of the Loughrea Senior Hurlers, extend their warm congratulations to the Loughrea team for their remarkable achievement.
