Loughrea golfer second in All Ireland Bronze Medal Competition

The weather were almost perfect on Wednesday, 2 October, as the autumn sunshine made an appearance at the County Meath venue where seventy-eight golfers gathered to compete for the All-Ireland Women’s Bronze Medal on the Headford old course.

Antoinette Starken from Castlebar took an early lead in the Bronze Medal final, finishing with an impressive -5 net 68. Her strong performance set a high standard for the other players. Jane Beatty from Loughrea, Jess Shiels from Rathcore, and Elaine Healy from Kilmashogue had strong performances on the day, each finishing with net rounds of 69. In the end, Starken managed to hold onto her lead, securing a one-shot victory with a total score of -5 net, with Jane Beatty taking second place.
