Loughrea Arts Recreation & Culture announce progress for Loughrea Town Hall

Loughrea Arts Recreation & Culture (LARC) celebrates a significant milestone in the journey towards the revitalisation of Loughrea Town Hall. The voluntary group is delighted to announce that contract documents for the refurbishment of this historical landmark are now on e-tenders.

In their latest press release post on Facebook, LARC stated:

‘Loughrea Arts Recreation & Culture welcome the progression of Loughrea Town Hall with news that contract documents are now on e-tenders for the refurbishment of this important historical building in the centre of town. May 22nd has been set as a deadline for clarifications with tenders due to be opened on the 5th of June.

The voluntary group have been steadfast in their efforts over the years, as robust lobbyists to Galway County Council, as active fundraisers and researchers, all in an effort to bring about the best possible Town Hall offering for the community at large to benefit from. A spokesperson from LARC stated “After years of campaigning alongside Naomh Breandan Credit Union and local counsellors, it is wonderful to finally see tangible progression for the Town Hall. Our aim remains steadfast, to continue to bring awareness of this project to the people of Loughrea; and to promote and envision the possibilities of this fantastic local amenity. We can now look forward to the return of artistic and cultural events at the Town Hall in the near future”.

LARC continue to work with Galway County Council to ensure the Town Hall building is restored to its former prominence as a centre of cultural life for the town. This means providing a space for social inclusion, youth, training, tourism, cultural and social events along with the development of local enterprise.’
