Long Point Loughrea Outdoor Amenity Enhancement Project – Second Public Consultation
Long Point Loughrea Outdoor Amenity Enhancement Project – Second Public Consultation
The Long Point, located on the shore of Loughrea lake, is one of Ireland’s most popular and attractive lakeside bathing and amenity locations, and the clear waters and shore amenities are enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. The beach has been awarded Blue Flag status, and Galway County Councill maintains a lifeguard service during the summer bathing season.
Proposals for ‘The Long Point Outdoor Amenity Enhancement Project’ are being prepared by a Design Team led by Helena McElmeel Architects in partnership with Galway County Council. Following successful initial public consultations and community and stakeholder engagements the project team has prepared outline proposals and would like to get feedback from as many people as possible – your contribution will help shape the recommendations and vision for the future of the facilities at Long Point.
A PDF presentation of the proposals will be available to download from consult.galway.ie and will be circulated via social media after the consultation launch on Monday 17th April. Feedback can be made by filling out the printable PDF questionnaire or by accessing the online survey:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QDZTL2Q (open from Monday 17th April to midnight Friday 28th April).
The proposals will be displayed in Loughrea Library from 4 pm on Wednesday 19th April, and members of the project team will be available on Wednesday 19th April at Loughrea Library from 4 pm to 7pm to discuss the proposals with interested parties.
