The Loughrea Christmas Festival is officially kicking off this Saturday, 23rd November at Charlie’s Bar, Main Street, Loughrea! The event promises a magical start to the festival season with a bustling Christmas Market, and festive fun.
What’s happening:
- Christmas Market: From 11.30 AM to 7.30 PM, shop a fantastic selection of artisan crafts, seasonal treats, and unique gifts. Support local businesses and small vendors while finding the perfect present for your loved ones.
- Live Music: Enjoy live performances from Rachel Connelly (3.00 PM – 3.45 PM) raising funds for the Galway Hospice, and Jamie Callanan (3.45 PM – 4.30 PM), bringing even more festive cheer to the market.
- Loughrea Community Radio – LCRfm 102.9 Broadcasts Live
Get into the festive spirit with Loughrea Community Radio (LCRfm 102.9), who will be broadcasting live throughout from Loughrea Christmas Market at Charlies Bar. Tune in for:- The Afternoon Show: 12 PM – 2 PM
- All Out Classics: 2 PM – 4 PM
- The Weekend Cruise: 4 PM – 5 PM
Loughrea Christmas Lights Display: At 5 PM, join Loughrea Community Lights for the official lighting of the Christmas lights on Main Street, led by Santa himself! He’ll be accompanied by school bands and choirs, and special guests from the Loughrea Hurling Team, with the Tom Callanan Cup. It’s a magical moment you won’t want to miss!

This year, Loughrea Community Lights have a €21,000 Giveaway fundraiser. Donations will directly support the maintenance and running costs of the beautiful Christmas lights that make our community shine bright during the Christmas.
How You Can Help: Donate to the Light Fund: Every contribution counts! Tickets available online at Loughrea Community Lights €21,000 Giveaway or at the Christmas Market, or, visit participating shops: Dervans Fashions, Billy’s Discount Store, Martin Dolan Expert Electrical, and Salon 11. Tickets are priced at €20 for 1 ticket or €50 for 3 tickets.
