Grey Lake Ramblers Loughrea Celebrate 20 Years of Trekking with Special Events
To mark twenty years of trekking, the Grey Lake Ramblers have organised a series of six walks in the beautiful Sliabh Aughties from Wednesday, 12th June to Sunday, 16th June. The club warmly welcome groups, clubs, and individuals who love hill walking to join them.
The walks will take place on forest tracks and roads, spanning from Hollymount and Peterswell to Woodford. The programme will kick off on Wednesday morning with a walk in Kylebrack Woods, followed by the opening event at 5:30 pm in Loughrea Library. Dr. Christy Cunniffe from Galway Community Archaeology will give an insightful talk on the Sliabh Aughties. Maps of the walks and a photo gallery chronicling the Grey Lake Ramblers since their foundation in 2004 will also be on display.
Non-members of the Grey Lake Ramblers can register for up to three walks by emailing greylakeramblers@gmail.com. Please include the walk number and name, along with your own name and telephone number.
