Gold medal for Loughrea’s Mary Barrett at National Masters Indoor Championships

The National Masters Indoor Championships took place in the TUS International Arena in Athlone on Sunday, 30 January. Amongst the winners was Mary Barrett, Loughrea Athletic Club, winning the gold medal for the Master Women O60 Shot Put (3kg), with a winning throw of 9.21m. Runner up was Lucy Moore, Dundrum South Dublin AC, with a throw of 8.43, and third place was Mary Breen, St. Joseph’s AC, with a throw of 5.56m.

Mary also took a silver medal in the Master Women High Jump (Group 3), with a jump of 1.05, behind Edel Maguire, Clonliffe Harriers AC, in a winning jump of 1.35.
