Galway County Council Announces Loughrea Bulky Goods Collection

As part of the Anti-Dumping Initiative 2024, Galway County Council will be hosting a Bulky Goods Collection at Loughrea Mart on 8th October from 9.30am to 1.30pm.

This initiative provides residents with an opportunity to responsibly dispose of large household items that are not typically accepted through regular waste collection services, helping to reduce illegal dumping in the community.

Items that will be accepted

Upholstered Furniture
Couches
Armchairs and 3 piece suites
Wardrobes, Bedside Lockers
Mattresses, Bedframes, Textiles
Dining Tables and Chairs

Items that will not be accepted

Construction & demolition
Waste electrical items
Hazardous waste
Bags of household waste etc
Toys / Trampolines etc
Ceramic items
Textiles

Pre-booking is essential to avail of the €5 gate fee.
Failure to do so will result in the individual being required to pay the gate and weighbridge fee.

THIS INITIATIVE IS FOR DOMESTIC HOUSEHOLDERS ONLY.
Commercial operators will be turned away. Car trailers only, no tractors.
