Five-in-a-row: Loughrea and St Thomas’ dramatic senior hurling final replay
The County Senior Hurling Final replay sponsored by Brooks Group between neighbouring clubs Loughrea Hurling Club and St. Thomas’ Hurling Club took place on Sunday, 27 November, in Pearse Stadium. Loughrea’s attempt to stop St Thomas’ in their tracks pushed both teams, with relentless play in the first half, which saw two points or less between the sides for most of the game. The pace increased in the second half, however, St Thomas’ saw off Loughrea to secure their fifth consecutive Galway senior hurling title.
Final score: St Thomas’ 1-15 Loughrea 0-17
