Funding application submitted to NTA to re-align Danesfort Road footpaths

An extensive funding application to re-align the footpaths on the Danesfort Road has been submitted by our Senior Engineer in Loughrea to the NTA. This was announced this evening, Tuesday, 18 January, 2020, by Cllr. Shane Curley on his Facebook page. Shane said:

‘This is one of a number of urgent projects I’ve been working on over the last 12 months. Not alone are the footpaths dangerous for pedestrians with children in buggies, but there is also a serious lack of accessibility for people with mobility issues.

I’d like to thank Moggie Malone Daniels and Vinny Corcoran for meeting our local engineer to highlight how inaccessible the footpaths on this road are for those using wheelchairs or mobility scooters. I will now be working with my Oireachtas colleagues to ensure that this project gets over the line to ensure the safety of everyone using the footpaths on the road.’
